Lesson Flashcards: Inductance Physics • 10th Grade
The SI unit of inductance
Self-inductance
The inductance of an isolated coil due to self-induction of the coil
Inductor
A component of a circuit that has nonzero inductance, such as a conducting coil
Mutual inductance
The inductance of each of two nearby coils due to their mutual induction
Mutual induction
The induction of currents in two nearby coils due to the interactions of the induced magnetic fields of the coils with each coil, where current is initially passed through one of the coils
Inductance
A quantity that affects the rate at which the current in an inductor can change value
Self-induction
The induction of current in a coil due to the magnetic field around the coil, where the magnetic field is produced by an initial change of current passed through the coil
